| In Novo Millennio Ineunte, John Paul II encouraged us to treasure the "lived theology" of the saints. He specifically named Catherine of Siena, Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross and Therese of Lisieux , citing them as saints of the mystical tradition who offered us precious insights for Christian living in the new millennium. Their insights enabled us to easily understand and live out the teachings of our faith. Of the four saints mentioned, the latter three are our sisters- and brother-Carmelites who are acclaimed Doctors (Teachers) of the Church. | ||||||||||||
